Henry David Thoreau's account of Sir Walter Raleigh was first published in 1905 by the Bibliophile Society, having been "lately discovered among his unpublished journals and manuscripts." Thoreau features many of Raleigh's romantic poems, with helpful notes. This volume is one of the 498 limited edition copies published for members of the Bibliophile Society.
Preface by Henry Aiken Metcalk [ix-xiv], Introduction by Franklin Sanborn [1-15], Text [17-90] and Notes [91-106] Half brown leather with gold-colored inlay and gray paper cover. Good condition. Exterior leather and corners have rubbing (please see photos). Internal binding very good and tight. Pages have foxing, but text is not obscured.
